Planning a perfect birthday party for your child!

It is an amazing feeling to see your little child slowly growing up! It is funny yet sweet to finally realize that your little one is not little anymore. Interestingly, as a parent you learn a lot from your kids too. It is more or less reliving your childhood all over again. And since we are talking about childhood, there is one thing that every child eagerly awaits — Birthday party!

Celebrations are an integral part of birthdays; after all, you must create memories that you and your child can cherish forever. Though, birthday parties are fun but nowadays they have also become a little hard to plan. Unlike the yesteryear kids, present generation children are much more aware and want everything to be planned in a perfect way.

We have listed a few points for you to take cue from while planning a birthday bash for your kiddo. Take a look and leave no room for errors while you do it all-

Get the food sorted: we know that kids are fussy with the food they eat but at parties everyone loves the fries and chips. Make sure you stock plenty of it in your party and keep light soft drinks for the children. In case, you have planned to take them out for a movie, check the PVR cinema timings and make sure each one of them gets a bucket of popcorn and a cold-drink. These two are ultimate favorite of any child.

Keep the fashion on point: To keep fashion on point, invest on designer kids wear. You can go to Select City Walk for shopping as they hold the best fashion accessories for children. Besides this, you can organize a theme based party or a costume party where children can come dressed as superheroes or in particular color-code such as dressed in purple or pink. Costume parties are extremely fun as children love getting dressed.

Keep some games and music: If you are short on time to take all kids out for a movie at IMAX Delhi or any other theatre then it is a good idea to organize games and music at home. You can have music and a dance floor for the children at party. Kids love dancing and to make the party more engaging; invite them to the dance floor and play music for them all. Keep balls and other handy games to keep the spirits alive and entertain them.

Be the sweetest of host as you can be with the children. Maintain your composure and trust that it is no big deal. It is only a party that can be done right if you keep some things planned!

Visit the unvisited this winter

The best part of the year is here, and it is here with all its splendour. For our own sake, we must ignore the reference of the thick smog outside our windows for the moment. Winters are not just beautiful, they're also a great time to organize all the day trips you have been wanting to go on since the year began. With the end of this year, it is time to check out all those places you had vowed to visit when the year had started. That isolated cafe, that underrated brunch place, and that hidden library - they all need your attention.
But despite the fact that we promised to forget the smog so as to not ruin our winter bliss, we must take corrective measures to protect ourselves from this monstrosity that befalls us every single winter. For the next ten days, it is best we choose places that are indoors and are completely covered from all sides. I know that's not our ideal scenario, but our health comes first. And come on, we will not leave you hanging!

We have brought together some of the best places one can visit which are not only covered but are also mysterious and equally fun.

1. British council library

When we talk about places to visit, one very charming place comes to mind. The British council library, situated in the centre of Delhi, very close to Connaught Place, is absolutely delightful. With an artsy arrangement of paintings and murals, they also have one of the most fabulous collections of British authors I have ever come across. Along with books, they lend DVDs and even conduct workshops for spoken English and personality development. A membership for the library is inexpensive and very useful and one can spend hours here, tucked away in its comfort and many gifts.

2. SelectCityWalk

The reason why this mall found a way into this list while others did not is simply because of its uniqueness and convenience. It has literally everything under one roof - whether we talk about the best salons in Delhi or fun playhouses for kids. From swanky showrooms to other entertaining elements, this mall has it all. It even has a flea market they organize every week or fortnightly!

3. Cafes

Not every cafe is closed and equally amazing, but many cafes in Delhi are. Whether we talk about cafes in Khan market the likes of Perch or the newly opened The Civil House, or we select separate cafes like the Rose cafe is Saket, they all have one thing in common - an extraordinary ambience. Combined with vintage and chic elements, they provide all kinds of wonderful experiences.

4. Indian Habitat Centre

One of my favourite places in Delhi till date is the Indian Habitat Centre. I have never seen a place which can serve the interests of such a diverse group before. Whether you are a theatre enthusiast, a budding writer, or an artist trying out new things- you can find some or the other event of your liking here. From plays to photography, from galleries to theatres, from dance performances to book launches, IHC is a hub of all cultures and preferences.

This winter, escape the smog and imbibe the culture of your dear city. It has a lot more to offer.

The permeation of Mall culture in society

Gone are the days when people of delhi used to wait for weekly ‘haats’ and daily ‘bazaars’ to do their regular shopping. The frequency of store visits in the nearby markets has also reduced and  there is only one phenomena responsible for it, which  is  the mall culture. The maximum places to shop in Delhi are now limited within the boundaries of the malls.  People have started to  believe that the only  destination for shopping is anyof the mall present in close proximity to their residence or work. The surprise is that it is not just limited to shopping but also for any sortof outing whether it be a party, going for movies or any casual outing.

The malls leave no stones unturned in attracting the customers in the maximum numbers. They provide the facilities which is seldom taken care of while you are in an open market. They have cloak storages where you can keep your extra baggage and roam around freely in the mall shopping for more items. The best part is you are unhindered by the climate outside of the mall. As we all know Delhi is a city of extreme climate whether it s summer or winter. The malls way to facilitate people with stable temperature conditions inside makes it even more attractive and preferable than any other place to visit in Delhi.

If you want to take your kids anywhere out during this scorching heat, there can be no place better than some mall. There are no better kids play zones in NewDelhi than the ones in the malls. With the ball cages, trampolines  and the toy cars you can make the day of your kid. Apart from this there are some of the best Ice Cream parlours in malls and we all know how much the children love Ice Cream.
