Don-up a Different Avatar This Festive Season

Festive season is undeniably the most awaited time for everyone. It’s that time of the year when everyone gets a chance to dress up and show off their unique sense of style. While most prefer sticking to the traditional wear during festivals like Diwali, there are others who like experimenting with ethnic Indian wear to add contemporary add-ons to their looks.

Women often mix and match it with western outfits or add a dash of luxury make-up brand to their overall look so that they can look a little different.

The trend of breaking away from traditional silhouettes and embellished pieces has already begun.  With fashion defining who you are, here are some fail-safe ideas to help you upgrade your fashion sense and bring out your best self:

Mix And Match

Who said you can only wear what your mom or cousins have been wearing since ages? Fashion is all about making an individual statement. Why not don something like a jumpsuit or something offbeat to reflect your individualism.  Fusion up your traditional ethnic wear by teaming not so obvious skirts or palazzos with your regular kurtis! Visit the nearest Inglot outlet in Delhi or go street shopping to get some unique items in your kitty.

Off the Beaten Track

Go boho this festive season by donning printed flared skirt and off-shoulder tops. Even ethnic prints on western silhouettes are a great way to be different from the rest. Remember bright colors will increase the glamour quotient considerably especially during the festive season.

Length Matters

If shimmying all through the night is what you have in mind, then the length of your outfits should be ideal. A crop top with a light toe length lehenga would be an ideal pick. If Anarkali is your personal favorite, pick a length that doesn’t make you go “tipping and falling”. Go for crop tops and skirts if you want to create different looks as both can be donned as separates after all the festivities are over.

Cape of Good Hope

Capes have emerged as the flavor of the season. Hence, there’s no reason as to why you shouldn’t be integrating them in your wardrobe. Moreover, they can be paired well with a dhoti, skirt or even a palazzo. Cape up this festive season to flaunt the diva in you!

Drape Magic

Drapes have always been a woman’s favorite. The timelessness of sarees makes them so versatile and feminine that no woman can possibly resist donning one on various occasions.  Be it sarees with metallic touch or something plain, drapes have the power to bring out the best in you. Moreover, with so many innovative blouse styles, it’s hard to look boring in a saree.

Devour the delicacies

Delhi is one of the very few places in this country where you can easily find such varieties. From high-end restaurants to street food vendors, with so many options, you will be spoilt for choice. It is one of the few places that witnessed the Starbucks coffee shop in India at the beginning. Restaurants like Mamagoto are also available here. However, the street side delicacies are equally good. You should consider trying the street food near Jama Masjid. This place is renowned for the cheap beef biryani and kebabs.

Go out for shopping

Who does not like to shop? Delhi has abundant options when it comes to shopping. Be it a shopping mall or street side vendor, you will always find what you are looking for. If you are looking for cheap options, visit the Sarojini Nagar market. You will find almost everything and anything in this market. On the other hand, if you are looking for high-end apparel brands, visit one of the big malls like Select Citywalk. They have the best accessories, clothing and sportswear shops in Delhi. So, if it is shopping that you are craving for in Delhi, you will certainly not be disappointed.

Take a peek into History

The capital city of India is the historic capital of the country as well. The many forts, monuments and palaces in Delhi depict the life the lifestyle of the royal families that once ruled these lands. Visit the Red Fort (Lal Qila) located near Chandni Chowk. Made of red sandstone, this was the residence of the Mughal families during their reign in Delhi. Qutub Minar is another attraction that one should visit. It is the tallest brick minaret in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Humayun’s Tomb, Jantar Mantar, and Jama Masjid are few other places where you can visit.

Follow These Tips for A Perfect Makeup This Monsoon

Heat, humidity, and rain wreak great havoc together on your hair and skin during monsoons. All ladies get worried about their makeup as it suffers the most. The makeup melts and dealing with it is a challenging task for all girls. Even the best unisex salon in Saket or any other place of your choice could help you in knowing better. Everyone needs to remember that stepping out in heavy layers of makeup is not a wise idea during monsoon season. But going barefaced is not an option too. Swapping a few guidelines in your makeup habits can bring a great change and also helps you in surviving rains. Some tricks can prevent your makeup from melting during rains while this is your chance to have a rain-proof makeup. Precisely, the less-is-more formula is the prime rule for anyone. A few stitches in your luxury makeup brands are necessary to keep your makeup game going strong in monsoon too!

SWITCH TO POWDER-BASED FORMULAS

Creamy foundations and eye shadows are more likely to melt during rains. Such makeup blunders can be avoided by switching to powder-based foundation formulas during monsoon. Powder-based foundations can give an excellent matte finish and can also help your foundation to last longer than usual. They provide an even tone coverage and your makeup becomes perfect this time.

USE WATERPROOF EYELINER & MASCARA

Rainy days are fun and romantic but your makeup might end up in disaster when you step out for any special occasion or your date night. Though waterproof makeup is available in the market, it is better to use some tips to take more care as raccoon eyes are not what you want when you finally want to have fun. Choose a good brand and have fun in the rain.

CREAM-BASED BLUSH IS THE SOLUTION

Cream-based eye-shadow palettes can be your saviours in monsoon season. It is time to keep your powder-based blushes aside and get hold of cream blushes. The ultra-creamy formulas of famous brands have high quality and give a flawless finish that glides like velvet on your skin. Subtle pink and peach shades blend perfectly with a natural and soft look.

AVOID GLOSSY LIPSTICKS

Lip glosses come in a wide range of varieties and are classic too. However, the gloss does not suit your makeup requirements in monsoon. Glossy and creamy lipsticks can bleed very easily in humid conditions during rains. So, it is best to stick to soft matte lipsticks and choosing light colours like pink and brown is better than bold and bright shades.

Recreating Old Pieces of Clothing

Almost everyone goes through that phase where they feel they have absolutely nothing to wear, and that their wardrobe needs some serious improvement. Well, if you are in no mood to shop, and would like to make use of what you already have in a slightly different way, then look no further. Here are a few outfit ideas using basic pieces of clothing you may already have.

You can do a lot more with a skirt

If you have a suitable skirt, like a midi pencil skirt, it may actually turn out to be a multi-purpose piece of clothing. If it fits well, you can turn it into a tube top or even a dress if it is long enough. Wear it as a tube top if you would like to show off your shoulders, otherwise just use a denim jacket or a simple shrug to cover them. Voila, you now have a new top or dress. If you try the same with a skirt that flares a bit, then you can tuck it into your pants, and no one will be able to guess that it is a skirt and not a tube top.

Wear your overalls with something more dressy

If you are bored of pairing your overalls with a shirt or a t-shirt, pair them with an off-shoulder top or even a tube top for a fresh look. An interesting trend is to let one of the straps of the overall hang free. Not only overalls, but jumpsuits also come in an amazing variety can be matched to look suitable for formal, casual or even fancy occasions.

Get creative with your lingerie

Lingerie is too pretty to always be worn on the inside. Wear a black bralette with an elegant blazer for a fancy event and you will look a class apart. Even some of the camisoles, done beautifully with lace can make for great tops if layered well with other pieces. The next time you go shopping, just look around a little at the best lingerie shop in Delhi and you will be surprised at what you can do with it.

Kurtas for some indo-western outfits

If you are bored of wearing a long Kurta like you usually do, then try wearing a pretty belt around your waist and wearing it like a dress if it does not have cuts on the side. For Kurtas that have buttons all the way down, just unbutton them. Then wear them over a tank top in a matching colour, and end up recreating even workout clothes for women.

Just think of different purposes your usual clothes can fulfil and you may renew your wardrobe without even spending a bit of money.

Skin Care Therapies That Are Worth Trying

Esthetics is the application of various treatments to the skin to maintain or improve its health and vitality. A variety of rejuvenating and relaxing treatments and luxury skin care products are used by estheticians these days. Complementary or support therapies are also provided if you are undergoing any treatment under your dermatologist for any skin disorder. You can buy some of the useful skin products in Mac cosmetics New Delhi or any other city or even online. Some of the therapies are mentioned below in which various skin products are used to deliver high-tech services.

EXFOLIATION

Manual removal of dead skin cells is called exfoliation. The processes include brushing, scrubbing, microdermabrasion, chemical peel off mask, or with enzymatic products. A chemical peel generally causes the dead skin cells to shed whereas enzymatic products digest them.

CHEMICAL PEEL

Skin concerns like aging, acne, sun damage, and mild scarring can be treated effectively through the chemical peel off mask. It can also improve the brightness of your skin and helps in giving you an even skin tone. Chemical peels can be light, moderate or deep but they differ in their requirement of downtime.

FACIAL

Facial is the most popular treatment among women and it is actually performed by estheticians. This helps them in understanding your skin nature to suggest further treatments. A facial treatment generally includes makeup removal, skin cleansing, mechanical exfoliation, steaming, extractions, massage, mask, serum, and sunblock.

DEEP CLEANSING/ EXTRACTION

Process of deep cleansing the pores is called extraction. It can be done either manually or with a metal extraction implement. Manual processes need usage of gloves and you need to apply pressure to cleanse the pores with your fingers which are covered in tissues or cotton. A lancet can also be used in extraction which is a small sharp blade used to lift the dead skin cells.

WAXING

Waxing removes unwanted hair from the roots and it can be either soft or hard. Soft wax is applied warm on the skin in the direction of hair growth and cloth strips are used to pull out the hair. Hard wax is applied as a thick layer and cloth strips are not necessary. After the thick layer is dried up, it is removed from the direction opposite to the hair growth. Hard wax is actually less irritating to sensitive skin and soft wax sometimes can cause redness of your skin.

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is the process of resurfacing the skin with the help of a machine. The machine helps in removing the outer layer of the skin and it uses either a stick with crushed diamonds at its tip or a spray of special crystals. This helps in improving your skin texture giving you a fresh, rejuvenated look.
