Visit the unvisited this winter

The best part of the year is here, and it is here with all its splendour. For our own sake, we must ignore the reference of the thick smog outside our windows for the moment. Winters are not just beautiful, they're also a great time to organize all the day trips you have been wanting to go on since the year began. With the end of this year, it is time to check out all those places you had vowed to visit when the year had started. That isolated cafe, that underrated brunch place, and that hidden library - they all need your attention.
But despite the fact that we promised to forget the smog so as to not ruin our winter bliss, we must take corrective measures to protect ourselves from this monstrosity that befalls us every single winter. For the next ten days, it is best we choose places that are indoors and are completely covered from all sides. I know that's not our ideal scenario, but our health comes first. And come on, we will not leave you hanging!

We have brought together some of the best places one can visit which are not only covered but are also mysterious and equally fun.

1. British council library

When we talk about places to visit, one very charming place comes to mind. The British council library, situated in the centre of Delhi, very close to Connaught Place, is absolutely delightful. With an artsy arrangement of paintings and murals, they also have one of the most fabulous collections of British authors I have ever come across. Along with books, they lend DVDs and even conduct workshops for spoken English and personality development. A membership for the library is inexpensive and very useful and one can spend hours here, tucked away in its comfort and many gifts.

2. SelectCityWalk

The reason why this mall found a way into this list while others did not is simply because of its uniqueness and convenience. It has literally everything under one roof - whether we talk about the best salons in Delhi or fun playhouses for kids. From swanky showrooms to other entertaining elements, this mall has it all. It even has a flea market they organize every week or fortnightly!

3. Cafes

Not every cafe is closed and equally amazing, but many cafes in Delhi are. Whether we talk about cafes in Khan market the likes of Perch or the newly opened The Civil House, or we select separate cafes like the Rose cafe is Saket, they all have one thing in common - an extraordinary ambience. Combined with vintage and chic elements, they provide all kinds of wonderful experiences.

4. Indian Habitat Centre

One of my favourite places in Delhi till date is the Indian Habitat Centre. I have never seen a place which can serve the interests of such a diverse group before. Whether you are a theatre enthusiast, a budding writer, or an artist trying out new things- you can find some or the other event of your liking here. From plays to photography, from galleries to theatres, from dance performances to book launches, IHC is a hub of all cultures and preferences.

This winter, escape the smog and imbibe the culture of your dear city. It has a lot more to offer.
